The 14 bedded Intensive therapy (ITU) and High Dependency Units (HDU) are located strategically within the ITU-OT complex of the NNC. The 8 bedded ITU is manned by efficient and trained nurses round the clock. There is a nurse for every two beds and occasionally when there are very serious cases, a single nurse looking after just one patient. These exclusive nurses are led by a highly qualified and trained ITU Manager Nurse (Ms Hepzibah Dorothy). The ITU has monitors for each bed to rcord the vital parametes including NIBP, ECG, Heart Rate, and the SPO2. Besides there are 4 ventilators for use in serious cases requiring ventilation. Wall mounted suction and Oxygen lines avoid cluttering the floor space.
